We are pleased to announce the re-opening of The Secret Lake for April 2019. The Secret Lake is also known in France as La Garenne and has already been a popular fishing destination for the last 10 years.
We have made lots of exciting new changes to give our customers a wonderful holiday and fishing experience. We have built a beautiful cabin in the woods and have added more stunning carp to enhance the existing stock.
The lake is set in the Champagne-Ardennes region of France in the picturesque countryside. The Secret Lake can be found down a quiet track just outside the small village of Trémilly. It really is the perfect location surrounded by idyllic woodland in a 1700 acre forest.
This is a really special carp lake in France available for exclusive hire.
The Secret Lake is ideal if you are looking for a peaceful fishing holiday in France for either you and three friends or the whole family. It is easy to get to, just over four hours from Calais.
The Secret Lake is four and a half acres in size and has three small islands. You are able to access the lake the whole way around, giving you more options for fishing. The lake is about 3 to 8 feet deep with a hand full of weed beds across the lake. The bottom has a thin layer of silt with some gravel patches.
Originally the lake was owned by a well-known fish farmer then made into a holiday setting by the previous owners.
The Secret Lake is stocked with carp (Mirror, Common and grass carp) these weigh between 20-54lbs. There are also Pike, Tench, Roach and Rudd.
£1,000.00 per week - Fully Inclusive lake hire, drive and survive.
£1,250.00 per week - Fully Inclusive lake hire, cabin, drive and survive. (Cabin sleeps 6)
Arrival at The Secret Lake is from 1pm on Saturday please delay your arrival until after this time. Departure- we ask that all guests leave by 10am.
The log cabin is a unique property, designed to blend in with its natural surroundings. It has stunning views overlooking the lake. There is veranda and outside furniture to enjoy the view of lake in all weather.
The cabin has ground floor space that includes a fully fitted kitchen, living room with sofa bed and dining area. The kitchen has an oven, gas hob, fridge with small freezer compartment. There is a log burner with logs provided for those chilly evenings. There is a TV with DVD player perfect to bring box sets. You'll also find newly fitted toilet and shower rooms. Outside there is a brick barbeque for you to use.
The large bedroom upstairs has a double bed and triple bunk beds with beautiful views across the lake. You will just need to take your own bedding, towels and tea towels.
As we are so rural, we have installed an off grid solar system, so we ask customers to be sensible with the electric. Inside the cabin we have fitted all English plug sockets for charging of mobile phones and bait boats. We are not on mains water; the water comes from the ground and is filtered but we suggest you buy drinking water from the supermarkets.
There is a brand new fishermans bathroom with a toilet and shower for those not hiring the cabin. We also have two double sockets in the adjoining shed for charging phones and bait boats.
The secret lake is only 5 minutes away from the nearest shops for essentials and the nearest supermarkets are only 15 minutes away. The supermarkets are in the pretty village of Montier En Der. There are 3 supermarkets, wonderful bakeries, shops, restaurants, butchers, a pharmacy, tabacconist and a petrol station. Everything you will require for supplies for your holiday.
The famous lake Lac du Der is also situated nearby, perfect for families with lots to do. There is a train ride around the lake, children’s parks, bouncy castles and family friendly restaurants. It has safe cycle lanes so is perfect for bike rides. You could easily spend a day there, with a choice of restaurants, a casino, jet ski hire and boat trips. Lac du Der has 6 man-made beaches where you can enjoy the sand or go swimming.
Nearby you could also go horse riding or treetop climbing as well as lots of wonderful places to explore.
